220439 is Hypertherm's 260A mild steel nozzle for the HPR plasma torch family. High-purity copper alloy (C14500 tellurium copper) body with a precision-drilled conical orifice using Hypertherm's Conical Flow™ nozzle technology . The nozzle is the single most important factor in determining cut quality: it constricts the shield gas stream and focuses the plasma arc into a high-velocity, high-density cutting beam that melts through steel with minimal dross . At 260A, the demands on the nozzle are extreme — high thermal load, intense arc constriction, and continuous spatter exposure — which is why material purity and orifice geometry are non-negotiable.

260A MS nozzle for the entire HPR high-amperage platform: 220439 is the primary 260A mild steel nozzle for HPR260, HPR260XD, HPR400XD, HPR800XD . Per CR Plasma's official HPR 260A Mild Steel consumables table, 220439 is the designated nozzle in the 260A MS stack .
NOT for stainless steel or aluminum: 220439 is the mild steel straight-cut nozzle ONLY. For 260A stainless steel bevel cutting, the correct nozzle is 220607; for 260A aluminum cutting, the correct nozzle is 220432 . Using 220439 for non-Mild-Steel processes will cause premature nozzle failure and degraded cut quality.
NOT for 260A bevel: 220439 is the straight-cut mild steel nozzle. For 260A bevel cutting on mild steel, consult Hypertherm's bevel stack specifications.
Conical Flow™ orifice geometry: The HALANSM 220439 replicates Hypertherm's conical orifice profile — a precision-machined converging-diverging bore that accelerates the plasma gas to supersonic velocities for a tight, focused arc . Wrong orifice geometry (generic round bore) causes arc wander, wide kerf, excessive dross, and rapid electrode wear.
260A-only: 220439 is rated 260A mild steel. Running it at 200A (use 220354) or 400A (use 220632) will cause improper gas dynamics and accelerated wear.
Change as a set: Per Hypertherm's guidance, HPR consumables interact synergistically — replace electrode + swirl ring + nozzle + retaining cap + shield + shield cap together for peak cut quality and life . A worn 220439 nozzle will destroy a brand-new 220435 electrode within minutes.
NOTE: 220439 = 260A MS nozzle. Primary fit: HPR260/HPR260XD/HPR400XD/HPR800XD. For 260A SS bevel use 220607; for 260A AL use 220432. 260A MS shield cap = 220637. HALANSM 220439 is an aftermarket compatible replacement, not Hypertherm OEM.
