Key Points (buyer-facing)
80A MS electrode, one part number crosses BOTH platforms: 220187 fits the older HPR130/HPR260 AND the newer HPR130XD/HPR260XD/HPR400XD identically . The 80A mild steel electrode is platform-agnostic at the 80A level.
NOT for 130A: While 220187 is listed under some 80–130A categories , the verified 80A mild steel electrode is 220187; 130A mild steel uses 220181. Do not run 220187 at 130A — it will prematurely fail.
Hafnium tip must be concentric: The HALANSM 220187 is CNC-machined to ensure the hafnium tip is perfectly centered in the copper body . Off-center tips cause arc wander, double-arcing, and rapid nozzle wear.
Change as a set: Per Hypertherm's guidance, HPR consumables interact synergistically — replace electrode + swirl + nozzle + retaining cap + shield + shield cap together for peak cut quality and life.
