The HALANSM® 220555​ is the 50A mild steel shield​ for the Hypertherm HPRXD plasma torch family — HPR130XD, HPR260XD, HPR400XD. Copper-alloy body, precision-machined internal bore to maintain correct standoff distance and laminar gas flow around the 220554 nozzle. In the HPR 50A stack it pairs with 220552 electrode + 220553 swirl ring + 220554 nozzle + 220754 retaining cap + 220555 shield + 220747 shield cap + 220340 water tube. HALANSM 220555 is OEM-profile matched to Hypertherm 220555 geometry, lower cost-per-piece than OEM. Compatible aftermarket replacement, not Hypertherm OEM.

Shield 220555 / 50A Mild Steel Shield for HPRXD Series – HALANSM®

220555 is Hypertherm's 50A mild steel shield for the HPRXD plasma torch family. Copper-alloy body with precision-machined bore, seated between the nozzle retaining cap (220754) and the shield cap (220747). Its job: protect the inner consumable stack from molten spatter and maintain the laminar gas shroud around the 220554 nozzle for a stable, focused arc and clean cut edge.

Key Points (buyer-facing)

  • 50A MS shield, one part number for all HPRXD machines: 220555 fits HPR130XD, HPR260XD, HPR400XD identically.

  • NOT a shield cap: 220555 is the shield (mid-stack protective sleeve around the nozzle). The shield cap that screws on top is 220747 (30–130A HPRXD). Both are required for a complete 50A stack.

  • 50A-only: 220555 is rated 50A mild steel. Running it at 80A/130A will cause premature shield blow-out. Correct shields by amp: 30A = 220194, 80A = 220189, 130A = 220183, 200A = 220761, 260A = 220764, 400A = 220636.

  • Change as a set: Per Hypertherm's guidance, HPR consumables interact synergistically — replace electrode + swirl + nozzle + retaining cap + shield + shield cap together for peak cut quality and life.

NOTE: 220555 = 50A MS shield. Shield cap pairing on HPRXD: 30–130A → 220747. The 50A stack is identical across all HPRXD machines except for amp-specific parts. HALANSM 220555 is an aftermarket compatible replacement, not Hypertherm OEM.
