The HALANSM 220994 is the 105A-class swirl ring for the Hypertherm Powermax 105 / Duramax platform. Positioned between electrode and nozzle, it spins the plasma gas into a laminar vortex that locks the arc onto the electrode center—critical for cut quality at full 105A output. Unlike the 220857 (10–85A, copper-bodied, used on PM45/65/85), the 220994 is the PM105-primary swirl: Hypertherm officially specifies it across all PM105 consumable stacks (drag 105 / mechanized / FineCut / gouging). Reinforced polymer + copper-insert construction takes the thermal load of sustained 105A runs better than the 85A-ring.

The swirl ring is the hidden workhorse between electrode and nozzle. Its internal vanes spin the shielding gas into a vortex, centering the plasma arc on the electrode and focusing the jet through the nozzle orifice. On a PM105 running at full 105A, gas velocity and thermal load are too high for the smaller-ring; that's why Hypertherm defines 220994 as the PM105 swirl across every stack.

If the buyer is on PM105 and ordering 220990 (105A nozzle), they need 220994, not 220857.
