The HALANSM® Drag Cutting Consumable Kit provides everything you need to refresh your Hypertherm Powermax 45 or 45A hand torch. Proper maintenance of these four core components is essential for achieving clean, dross-free cuts and maintaining optimal piercing speeds.


Kit Component Details:

  • Shield Cap (220674): The large outer copper cup that protects the nozzle and distributes shield gas to protect the cut edge.

  • Nozzle (220671): The precision-machined copper tip that focuses the plasma arc into a concentrated stream for cutting metal.

  • Electrode (220478): The silver-core electrode that carries the current and generates the plasma arc.

  • Swirl Ring (220479): The grooved copper ring that imparts a rotary motion to the plasma gas, cooling the electrode and focusing the arc.

⚠️ Critical Installation & Compatibility Notes

  • Correct Assembly Order: When rebuilding the torch, always install the components in this order (from the torch body outwards): Electrode (220478) -> Swirl Ring (220479) -> Nozzle (220671) -> Shield Cap (220674).

  • Do Not Mix Systems: The Powermax 45 / 45A (2208xx series) uses different thread patterns and dimensions than the older HSD130 45A (2205xx series). Using this kit on an HSD130 torch will result in gas leaks and potential torch damage. Please verify your torch model before purchasing.
