Shield Cap 420228 for Hypertherm XPR300 Plasma Cutting Torch Consumables 30A
The shield cap is the outermost sleeve of the torch head. Its job is simple but critical: lock alignment, seal coolant gases via its O-ring seats, and deflect spatter away from the torch body. When the shield cap walls are consistent and the seat geometry is right, your arc stays centered and your consumable stack wears evenly.
Key Features
O₂/O₂ 30A Geometry: Bore and wall thickness follow the XPR300 30A shield envelope so the gas column forms correctly for mild-steel cutting.
Precision O-Ring Lands: Smooth, controlled seat surfaces help prevent cooling-water weep and gas bypass—two silent killers of cut stability.
High-Purity Copper: Better thermal mass and conductivity than soft/impure alloys, reducing creep and giving you more predictable wear.
Drop-In Fit: Made to the OEM envelope so it threads/concentrics correctly with Retaining Cap 420200 / 420365 and Shield 420228 position stack.
